Since 2013, HoohaaDesign’s been consulting for a client specializing in handcrafted jewelry. With several stores across the U.K. and a Magento website, the client was looking for a software that would integrate all the sales channels into one system and improve customer experience.

Building a better customer experience across channels

A jeweler’s appreciation and commitment towards their customers will set them apart from other brands. In this case, the search for a new POS started with the client’s need to introduce an omnichannel loyalty system:

  • The customer should get points from their purchase, whether they buy something in a store or online.
  • The customer should be able to use these points in store and on the website for their next purchase.

While Marilena found many POS software with loyalty, they didn’t integrate well with Magento.

“We wanted a system that worked across the website and in the stores together. That’s why Magestore was the obvious choice.” — said Marilena.

Build better customer experience

With Magestore POS, all of the customer’s information, purchase, and points are synced into one Magento database immediately. Customers get their points from both online and offline orders. They can then spend them on the website or in the stores.

Reducing errors with a single text field

Personalizations such as engravings have always been part of jewelry’s history. Shoppers will expect to be able to engrave a short phrase on their jewelry to convey their feelings or celebrate an occasion. Therefore, it’s important for HoohaaDesign’s client to offer this service.

On Vend POS—the client’s previous POS system—while there’s options for product sizes, prices, and variations, the staff couldn’t record the text the customer wanted on their engraving. They had to write the message on paper to send to the lab, which led to missing or wrong engravings. This not only wasted time and money, but also created a negative shopping experience.

With Magestore POS, the staff can accurately record the texts into the system, reducing errors and costs when it comes to engraved jewelry products.

Saving cost during adoption and expansion

“Our client has certain requirements that not every business that you work with will have, and their staff are very particular about how they want things done. Magestore POS would help to start with and then grow into what we need.” — explained Marilena.

In addition to being native with Magento, Magestore POS can be customized to fit with the client’s workflow, from changing the design to adding new features. HoohaaDesign has done quite a few phases of customization with Magestore, and so far the results have been cost-saving.

“We have done development work with many other companies, and in terms of the cost paid for the functionality received, Magestore’s good value. We feel that the customization work and everything that we paid extra for is worth the investment.”

HoohaaDesign also helped their client save significant expansion costs. With Vend, there was an extra charge for every new register and staff. However, with the new system, the client can create as many locations, POS, and staffs as they need, without paying any additional fee.
